Learning To Read Words: Colors
Reading and Literacy Tips June 12th, 2007This week “koko D” have been learning his ‘color’ words. I put the words up for his ‘monster‘ to eat. But apart from that, this is the game we play. Many of you are familiar with the story “Brown Bear, Brown Bear”.
Well, I turned the flashcards face down and then we flip them one by one. So this is an example of how the game goes:
Take the first card – yellow
Think of something yellow.
Then we say: Yellow fish, yellow fish, what do you see?
Take the second card – red
Think of something red.
Then we say: I see a red bird looking at me. Red bird, red bird, what do you see?
Take another card – blue
Think of something blue.
Then we say: I see a blue butterfly looking at me. Blue butterfly, blue butterfly, what do you see?
Take another card… and the game goes on until we finish the cards.
It’s fun and “koko D” has managed to learn all 10 words within a few days:
White, black, red, blue, green, yellow, pink, orange, purple, brown.

Hi Chinnee,
That’s why I invested in a laminator machine. After all the hardwork, must try to preserve it as long as possible
